North Atlanta Country Clubs - The River Club vs Country Club of the South (which is better)?

Country Club of the South

Opened in 1987, The Country Club of the South is an North Atlanta luxury home community. Homes in this Johns Creek neighborhood were started in the late 80s and continued through the 90s with a handful of homes built into the 2000s. 

With so many homes and the restrictions, before deciding to buy and renovate make sure to read the 100 page booklet on covenants and restrictions. 

Atlanta’s Chattahoochee River runs though the neighborhood so some homeowners are lucky to have close access to the river in their backyard. Another benefit of Country Club of the South is the Jack Nicklaus golf course, one of the most challenging layouts, not to mention a thing of beauty, with lakes, rolling hills and lush trees throughout. It was voted one of the top best courses in Georgia by Golf Digest. 

Exclusive events for club members include wine tasting nights, ladies nights, and top talent concerts. 

The River Club - Suwanee

Pictured above is The Lodge, where the spa, golf shop, and dining activities are held. The community, is in Suwanee which is part of Gwinnett Country. Ideally located not too far from I-85 in the metro Atlanta area. 

The River Club's locale is a certified Audubon Sanctuary setting. And not to be outdone by Country Club of the South's golf course, the River Club's course is designed by Greg Norman. The 72 par course offers stunning views of the Chattahoochee River.
